Outstanding recognition for the award for the best promotional banknote won by the Printing Works of the BNB Corp. at the International Secure Document Technology Forum High Security Printing EMEA in Basel, Switzerland

Printing Works of the BNB Corp. participated in the High Security Printing EMEA International Secure Document Technology Forum held from 3 to 5 February 2025 in Basel, Switzerland. The theme of the conference was the latest technologies and techniques in the production and issuance of banknotes, electronic passports and identity documents in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

High Security Printing EMEA is the twenty-first edition of the event which, since 2004, has provided the region with a forum where new products, technical developments, issues and solutions are presented and discussed by government organizations, central banks, as well as public and private printhouses in the field of security in secure printing production.

The Printing Works of the BNB Corp. won the first place at the cited international forum in the category “Best promotional banknote” with the motif “BUTTERFLY EFFECT”. The promotional banknote was produced on the occasion of the 30th Anniversary of our printhouse. The award from Basel is due to the efforts of the team of our designers from the Prepress Sector and the employees from the Securities Production Department, as well as our modern equipment.

The banknote has an extremely complex design, featuring a portrait of Edward Lorenz on the front – the mathematician and meteorologist who discovered chaos theory and described the butterfly effect (the idea that small changes can lead to large consequences) and accompanying visual graphics. This narrative is continued on the reverse side with graphic elements of butterflies in flight. The production of the banknote includes dry and wet offset, intaglio and screen printing with a diffraction ribbon from Demax АD printhouse incorporating 3D and bas-relief effects, positive/negative electronic motion effects, achromatic micro-engraved portraiture, micro- and nano-engineered images and registered demetallization.

This exceptional recognition for the Printing Works of the BNB Corp. can also be seen on the official website of the High Security Printing EMEA.

The recognition received from this leading forum is another reason to point out that in its 30 years, the Printing Works of the BNB Corp. has established itself as an industry leader, providing its customers with high-quality and protected products. The rewarded banknote provided an opportunity to share our years of experience, creativity and high level of professionalism, as well as to recreate the Printing Works’s vision and ideas, responsibility to challenges and our commitment to excellence.
